Ouroboros fang

$300.00

The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a serpent or dragon eating its own tail in a circle symbolizing the cycle of death and rebirth, eternity and renewal. The reason I’ve chose this name is because of the wrought iron I use on the outside of the blade which is a type of iron used from before the world wars. A time before machines where everything was made by a mans hands. The wrought I typically use comes from anchor chains from around the 1860-1890s and was forged without the use of automated machines. That being said I’m able to take something made 200+ years ago and give it new life by reforging it into what you see here thus continuing the legacy and keeping another smiths work alive in a new form to be past down to future generations. Ouroboros fang is a san-mai knife loosely based off of a puukko. Made of wrought iron with a 80crv2 core. It has an aluminum bolster and ziricote wood for the handle. These knives are a mixture of two different styles blended into what you see here. The blade construction is my version of a puukko. And the handle is loosely based off of a Japanese tanto. This makes them very light yet super secure in the hand. Perfect for a edc or hunting/ fishing knife. It comes with a leather sheath made by me and is dyed black with red stitching.

*Note : these are made to order and will vary slightly in width, length, and pattern but are typically 10 inches overall with a 4 1/2” blade and a 5” handle. It will take around 3 weeks to complete. If you want to change the handle material or add a resin spacer shoot me an email and we can work it out.
