What Is Yggdrasil?

In Norse cosmology, Yggdrasil is the massive, sacred ash tree that holds the Nine Realms together in its branches and roots. It is the literal pillar of the universe, connecting heaven, earth, and the underworld. Carrying its energy means staying grounded, keeping your branches high, and acknowledging the deep roots that connect everything in existence.

The Brew

I don’t do mass-produced. To make a set of runes that actually speaks, you need the right ingredients. For the Yggdrasil set, I had to climb the trunk of the cosmic world tree and take in the sheer scale of all nine realms:

• The Mojito (Green): Fresh, vibrant moss scraped directly off the lowest bark of the great tree where it touches the mortal realm. It brings that raw, living forest energy straight into the mix.

• The Black: Rich, ancient soil scooped from the deepest roots below, where the dragon Nidhogg gnaws away at the foundations. I had to dodge a very territorial serpent just to grab a handful of this dark, heavy earth.

• The Celestial (Grey/Blue Pearl): A swirling mist captured high up in the topmost branches where Yggdrasil brushes against the heavens and the realm of the gods. It carries that vast, open-sky shimmer.

• The Anchor (Black): Crushed bark from the heartwood of the cosmic ash tree itself. I ground it down to a fine powder to outline the ancient ᚠᚢᚦᚨᚱᚲ (Futhark) symbols, locking all that universal, branching magic safely inside the resin.
