What Is a Siren?

In ancient myth and maritime lore, Sirens are dangerous and mesmerizing creatures who lure sailors to their doom with haunting, beautiful songs echoing across treacherous waters. Representing irresistible temptation, deep ocean mysteries, and a pull so strong you can’t look away, they embody the hypnotic beauty of the deep unknown where few dare to tread.

The Brew

I don’t do mass-produced. To make a set of runes that actually speaks, you need the right ingredients. For the Siren set, I had to anchor right over a legendary graveyard of shipwrecks and listen to the haunting melodies drifting up from the black water:

• The Mermaid (Blue): A flask of bioluminescent seawater scooped straight from the pitch-black abyss where light never reaches, glowing with an eerie, hypnotic pulse.

• The Fiesta (Pink): Crushed, iridescent shell fragments from rare, venomous sea snails harvested from coral mazes designed to trap unsuspecting ships.

• The Vineyard (Dark Purple): Thick, bruised twilight ink squeezed from deep-sea cephalopods that hunt in the crushing pressure far beneath the waves.

• The Intrigue (Pink Pearl): Shimmering pearl dust scraped from the inner shell of an ancient oyster that grew right at the edge of the sirens’ resting rocks.

• The Anchor (Black): Pitch-black ink harvested straight from the deep-sea lair of a slumbering kraken. I used its inky, light-devouring shadow to outline the ancient ᚠᚢᚦᚨᚱᚲ (Futhark) symbols, locking all that crushing, abyssal power safely inside the resin.
