Blue blood

$400.00

Forged in the heart of a traditional coal fire, the “Blue Blood” Chef’s Knife is a true collaboration of craftsmanship between blade and handle. Hand-hammered from 1084 high-carbon steel, this blade features a rugged stone-washed finish that contrasts beautifully with the touch of raw, forged texture I left along the spine.

Functionality was the main driver for the blade’s geometry. I forged this with a generous 2 ¼-inch heel height, giving you plenty of knuckle clearance for chopping on a board. It also features a distinct distal taper—starting at a robust 3/16″ at the ricasso and slimming down to a laser-precise 1/16″ near the tip—which makes the knife feel fast and nimble in the hand despite its size.

The handle is a showstopper in itself, custom-made by my wife at Midknight Arts. It features aluminum honeycomb set in “Blue Blood” resin—the deep, rich mica powder that gives this knife its name.
